Details worth reading before you start

There is a real gap between planning a 60-person workshop and producing a 400-person multi-day conference. The tools are similar, but the stakes, the team dynamics, and the decision-making speed are completely different. This program is built around that gap.

The problems this course addresses

Experienced coordinators often hit a ceiling where their current systems stop working at scale. Vendor communication breaks down, timelines get too complex to manage in a single spreadsheet, and last-minute changes cause cascading problems. This program introduces production management frameworks used by professional event producers to handle exactly those situations.

Production planning in practice

We cover advanced budgeting with contingency modeling, multi-vendor coordination using shared project tools, and stakeholder management when you have sponsors, speakers, and internal teams all pulling in different directions. You will also work through two full case studies: a corporate summit and a public-facing festival, each with different constraints and failure points.

Team and delegation

One module focuses entirely on building and briefing an event team. Most mid-level coordinators struggle with delegation not because they lack trust but because they have not built clear handoff systems. We cover role definitions, briefing documents, and how to run a pre-event team walkthrough that actually reduces day-of confusion.

This is a demanding program. Plan to spend 5 to 7 hours per week on coursework, case study reviews, and the live group sessions held twice monthly.

Participants need at least one year of hands-on event coordination experience before enrolling.
